Egypt League to resume in December
“The Egyptian Football Association has decided to launch the Premier League season in mid-December, after a meeting with the league’s football clubs,” the MENA news agency reported on Thursday.
The Egyptian league has been suspended since February after violence erupted in a league game between Al Masry and Al Ahly that claimed the lives of 70 fans.
The Egyptian Football Association has twice postponed the resumption of the season citing security reasons.
The trial for those responsible for the Cairo disaster opened in April with the first verdicts expected early next year.
